I really ended up enjoying the third season of Merlin and had to vid my love for it. One cool thing I didn't realize until I sat down to clip was how much the two parter introduction to the season was referenced in the season finale, how many parallels were drawn. I gotta say it made my job as a vidder a hell of a lot easier and more fun.

This was the first year in the last five that I didn't have a vid to submit to VVC and that's mostly because personal inspiration and motivation remained just about nil the past 6 months. So after the deadline came and went, I decided to throw it all out the window and vid purely for the joy of vidding something silly yet near and dear to my heart. Naturally, that translated to vidding Merlin and my OTP Merlin/Arthur. It was really a no-brainer...or 2 no-brainers to be exact.

So, yes, here I am a couple months later bearing a 9 minute vid! NINE MINUTES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT, I TOTALLY WENT THERE EVEN THOUGH IT'S A BIG HONKING VIDDING NONO. I'm sorry, I originally meant to edit the song down, but there was really an insane amount of stuff Merlin would do for Arthur that I felt all the lyrics were totally necessary and vital to painting the portrait of how crazycakes devoted Merlin is to his coinmate. To be fair, I did nix about a minute from the full version of the song. Anyway, this vid is a little rough around the edges, but I wasn't really aiming for perfection here. It was all about the fun...also, getting back into the hang of vidding again...and I wanted to put it out there before the new season gets underway. I have a feeling S3 is gonna be epic, guys.

Well, aside from engaging in familial bonding over the arctic blast of a holiday season my area experienced and avidly following Obama's road to the White House (INAUGURAL TUESDAY = DAY OF BIG ELATION!), my brain has been occupied with little more than this vid. I worry that this might be my final SGA vid, but if that turns out to be the case, I can't think of a better way to go out than vidding a Rodney-centric vid. Because even though I'd yet to make a vid devoted entirely to McKay, he is unequivocally my fave SGA character.
